This charming restaurant is located in one of the famous ¨9 streets¨ in the heart of Amsterdam. It is a traditional brown café, the typical old fashioned café where Dutch are used to go out for beers, coffee and diner. This one is really traditional, but no Dutch people in the room, but mainly tourists. Nevertheless, the decoration and atmosphere is totally local!

The service was really nice, helpful and joyful! It was a real pleasure to have smiling waitresses, even if I do believe they were smiling at my handsome cousin than for the work.

Steamed Veggies
I took the beef stew (sukkadevlees or haché in Dutch) served with potatoes puree and steamed vegetables. The portions were huge!
I get a full large plate of puree with  Brussels sprouts, carrots, endives, red cabbage and green beans, and then beside a nice portion of beef stew. It was just delicious!!!!
And actually, I really loved to have it served with so much steamed veggies! The stew was tasteful, the meat melting in your mouth, the sauce was thick and really tasty.

I really enjoyed it! We tried also the spareribs and they were delicious! Even if we were quite full, the guys ordered some desserts, but they were quite normal, and not homemade. The prices are reasonable and the wine list was looking interesting. Make a reservation in advance, if you want to be sure to get a table, as the restaurant was full!

I really recommend it if you are visiting Amsterdam and want to try typical food! If you know already the place, please let me know your comment about your own experience and share it with the others!
